Employers must provide W-2s and 1099s to recipients

Deadline to file 2024 individual tax returns (Form 1040)

Q1 2025 Estimated Tax

First quarter 2025 estimated tax payment due

Additional quarterly deadlines: June 15, September 15, and January 15 (following year) for estimated tax payments.

Document Checklists

Gather these documents before your appointment to make the process smooth and efficient

For Individual Taxpayers

  • W-2 forms from all employers
  • 1099 forms (INT, DIV, NEC, MISC, etc.)
  • Social Security and pension statements (SSA-1099, 1099-R)
  • Mortgage interest statement (Form 1098)
  • Property tax records
  • Charitable contribution receipts
  • Medical expense receipts (if itemizing)
  • Retirement account contribution records (IRA, 401k)
  • Health insurance Form 1095-A, B, or C
  • Education expenses (Form 1098-T, student loan interest)
  • Prior year tax return (if new client)

For Business Owners & Self-Employed

  • All 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms received
  • Profit and loss statement (P&L) for the year
  • Balance sheet (if applicable)
  • Business expense receipts and records
  • Vehicle mileage log (if claiming auto expenses)
  • Home office measurement and utility costs (if applicable)
  • Equipment and asset purchase receipts
  • Payroll records and Forms 941/940 (if you have employees)
  • Partnership or S-corp K-1 forms (if applicable)
  • Estimated tax payment records
  • Prior year business tax return (if new client)
